Fake or Fortune

Picture for Fake or Fortune

Is it a Banksy or not?  Over the last couple of weeks we have had reports of possible Banksys appearing in towns not too far from us.  It seems that many have been claimed by the artist himself, confirming that he painted them, thus making them worth a fortune.

Have you watched the TV series with the same name ‘Fake or Fortune’ which seeks to investigate whether paintings that have been brought to them are really by the claimed artist or are they forgeries?  The presenters, Fiona Bruce and Philip Mould go to enormous lengths to investigate the artwork, using forensic science and all sorts to prove or disprove the painting.

I was wondering whether as Christians we are real or are we just pretending to be a Christian and so are we a fake/forgery?  Google tells me that ‘Being a Christian is not about keeping rules and regulations, performing rituals, or even going to church.  It’s about a friendship with Jesus Christ.’  This is the key – our relationship with Jesus.

John 13 v 35 says  ‘A new command I give you: love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.’

As we move forward, let us be known by our love for those around us, at home, at work and in the fellowship here in Wymondham.
