Jesus Lives!

 Sometimes, to the irritation of my wife, I find myself walking around the house humming some tune or other. She does complain however that at times I keep changing key or am out of tune, but I can live with that.
 
So it was that the other day I found myself humming the tune to an old chorus we sang many years ago at Sunday School:
 
“He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today,
He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart,
You ask me how I know He lives,
“He lives within my heart”.
 
What a chorus to sing, but more than that, what a reality to know that Jesus lives in our hearts. In Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, he prays that believers would be “strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” (Eph 3:17)
 
And in Romans 5:5 where it states that “God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
 
So when you’re going about your daily work, wherever that may be, just be assured you are never by yourself, you have a loving God who walks with you every step of the way – because He lives!
