My day out

The other day I had the joy of going to the zoo. Now, I hadn’t been to a zoo for many years, and I was concerned at how much I felt like a child, with my nose pressed up against the glass, watching a vary large lizard and also finding myself right up close to the cages and talking to the birds!!

It surprised me how much wonder I saw in all the shapes, sizes, and colours of the various creatures. It got me thinking that God’s creation never ceases to amaze and create wonder. The giraffe, as you will most probably know, is the tallest animal in the world, but did you know that no two giraffes have the same markings, or that the snow leopard can’t roar, but actually meows like a domestic cat. I could easily go on about the shapes, expressions, and colours that I saw, like the grumpy looking monkeys or the strange smile on the kookaburra’s  face, but the thing that got to me was, how great is our God. I’ve even heard God called the Great Designer, well I can tell you that some of the designs I saw were remarkable.

Psalm 24 verse 1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all who live in it.” But more importantly please read the whole of Psalm 24 which has the theme: ‘Everything belongs to God - the glorious eternal King. Let us worship Him and welcome His glorious reign’.

Verse 10 says, “Who is He, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty – He is the King of Glory.”
