Think of a letter..
I remember one of the ‘Thoughts for the Day’ that we wrote many months ago in the days of the lockdown. A similar thought came back to me and I felt it was worth thinking about again.
In Paul’s second letter to the Corinthian Church, Chapter 3:2&3 says, “You yourselves are our letter written on our hearts, known and read by everybody. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result our ministry, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the Living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts.”
What a challenge for us, just think about it, wherever you go, whoever you see and speak to, you are a letter from God, as His Spirit lives in your heart. People you may not even know who see you in the street, supermarket or shops will see your actions and maybe hear your words. Ask yourself, “are your words and actions those of a living letter from God, that others see?”
So we are living letters, each one of us, not because we are written on “tablets of stone”, but because we are written on “tablets of human hearts”.
Father God, our prayer this week is that we go with Your Spirit living in us as living letters, with love from God. Amen.
