FaceTime
To those with up-to-date communication knowledge, ‘FaceTime’ means something. I understand it is video ‘phoning someone, even in another country, and spending time talking and seeing each other face to face. The wonders of modern technology and a new language! I guess FaceTime is a noun.
The thought of picking up an eye pad and spending time talking with your face most probably means you need the eye pad to bathe your weary brow! How our language can get confused and mixed up.
On a serious note, all this caused me to think about time and how we use the word so much. There are expressions we use and hear every day like, wasting time, saving time, half time, on time, just in time, time to go, big time, time well spent, spare time and about time. I'm sure there are many more you could think of if you had the time!
But what a precious thing it is, God has given each one of us time - He knows our every day, and every day we have. As God is perfect so He has perfect timing for you and your life.
So why not use your time well and honour the gift God has given you. Ecclesiastes chapter 3 is the well-known passage on time, but there are times to rest, times to be still, times to sit with God and share your thoughts and ideas with Him. I know when we spend time with Him we will see and understand the opportunities we have to serve.
None of us knows how much time we have, so use it wisely, or, dare I say, spend some ‘FaceTime’ with our Creator.
