O Come all Ye Faithful

Picture for O come all ye fait

O come all you faithful, joyful and triumphant
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem
Come and behold Him
Born the King of angels

O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
Christ the Lord.

God of God, Light of Light
Lo he abhors not the virgin’s womb
Very God,
Begotten not created.

O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
Christ the Lord.

Sing choirs of angels, sing in exultation
Sing all ye citizens of heaven above
Glory to God
In the highest

O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
Christ the Lord.

Yea Lord we greet Thee, born this happy morning
Jesus to Thee be glory given
Word of the Father
Now in flesh appearing

O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
Christ the Lord.

Considered to be one of the world’s greatest Christmas carols, it is believed to be a reference to the shepherds after hearing the angels signing to come to Bethlehem to worship the new born Saviour.

Although today we cannot physically witness Jesus in the manger, this carol invites us all in a symbolic sense to be there as we allow the words and images to raise our spirits in thanks and adoration to God’s gift to the world.

Wherever you are, whoever you are, however you are feeling, this carol is an open invitation to simply “Come and adore Him, Christ the Lord”.
