EVERYONE IS IMPORTANT

Everyone is important picture

I have been struggling with this puzzle for the last few months.  I think it was given to Ray by our eldest daughter and I would say it was a bit architect’s sketchy if you know what I mean – a lot of lines all looking the same.  After hours of labouring with it, seeking help from other family members, eventually I managed to complete it.  On many occasions I thought I had got the right piece in the right place only to find that the next bit didn’t fit, but when this was adjusted it all worked out well and the puzzle came together.  It took me so long I have only just broken it up!!

This made we think about us as Christians – we all have a part to play in our church, our bit in the puzzle, sometimes perhaps we aren’t quite in the right place and we need to find exactly where God wants us to serve, what He wants us to do, what part He wants us to play.  The pattern can be complex but we all have a place that is just the right fit for us.  Remember the story of Nehemiah rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem.  Everyone had their job to do, according to their skills and abilities, the labour was divided up and everyone worked hard to rebuild the city’s defenses.  This story teaches us that when people work together, they can achieve great things, even when it's tough.

As a church we are called to work together.  In Ecclesiastes we read ‘Two are better off than one, because together they can work more effectively.  If one of them falls down, the other can help them up.’
